COACHES'
HANDBOOK
This handbook is open to every parent. It shows how our coaches think, how they work with the kids, and the values they pass on every day, on and off the pitch. These are the rules the whole Lumi Czech Football Academy runs on.

01
Vision and philosophy
Lumi Czech Football Academy is built on a deep belief that sport creates lifelong friendships, shared big dreams, strong and unforgettable memories, valuable contacts for the future, and above all a healthy, supportive social environment.
Our mission is for kids to learn to love football as a game that opens doors to the world and shapes them into strong people.
02
Academy values
Every member of the academy, from the owner to the coaches to the players represents a core set of values. In training we actively build:
- Character
- Teamwork
- Creativity
- Confidence
- A lifelong relationship with sport
- A broad European football culture
- Discipline
- Pure joy of movement
- Open communication
- A healthy lifestyle
We create a safe, highly positive, and consistently inspiring environment where every individual has the space to shine.
03
Football as a global phenomenon
Kids in our academy gradually come to understand that football is far more than just a game. It comes from the very essence of sport: it creates dreams, teaches natural discipline, connects people across nationalities all over the world, builds moral character, brings out the strongest emotions, and forges bonds between friends that last for years.
That's exactly why football is one of the most beautiful sports on the planet and our coaches are the ones who reveal that beauty to kids every day.
04
What a LUMI coach looks like
A coach at our academy is a key ambassador of our vision. They have to lead by example in every step.

Positive and energetic
Passes enthusiasm and good mood on to the kids from the first to the last minute on the pitch.
A moral role model
Acts fairly, speaks well, respects the rules, and is always on time.
Safe environment
Looks after the kids' physical and mental safety so they are never afraid to express themselves.
Encourages communication
Actively encourages kids to talk to each other, help each other out, and solve situations constructively.
05
Communication with kids
During training, coaches should explain the broader context of life and sport to the kids naturally and clearly. The tone is never bossy, it's curious, inspiring, and explanatory:
- · Why sport and regular movement matter so much today, for body and mind.
- · Why open communication and mutual respect between people are key.
- · Why being a steady, reliable part of a team is so valuable.
- · Why football, as a global language, connects people and cultures around the world.
07
Communication with parents
Parents have a right to know how their coaches work with their kids. It's a basic condition for trust and partnership. That's why we publish this handbook, every parent can read how we communicate on the pitch, how we guide a child toward discipline, how we handle success and failure, and the values we build every single training session on.
The academy puts huge emphasis on transparent, in-depth communication with parents. Parents are our partners in their children's development. Coaches regularly remind parents that the academy's primary goal is not immediate pressure for results, but healthy, all-round growth of the child, a positive and emotionally stable environment, social growth, and a love of movement.
Coaches systematically explain that football brings their kids together, teaches them healthy communication, helps them handle both the joy of winning and the disappointment of losing, builds their inner character, and creates friendships for life.
Our goal is for the kids to feel safe, for the parents to feel completely welcome, and for the whole academy to function like one big, connected family and community.
08
Lumi the mascot, on-pitch method
Lumi is the official mascot and the heart of our identity. Visually he is shown as a lemur. He's a football beginner learning the game from scratch, just like our kids. He makes mistakes, trips up, loses the ball, but never gives up. He dreams of becoming a great world-class player one day.
Coaches actively use Lumi's story in every training session. Through Lumi we show kids that making mistakes is completely fine, and that what matters most is perseverance and a smile.
09
Age groups
Training plans and communication style are strictly adapted to three age waves, so that each child's natural development is respected.
Ages 5–8 · The fun explorer
Performance and results don't matter at all. The main goal is pure joy, laughter, movement, safety, motivation, and an organic bond with sport. Sessions are interactive game-based adventures. Coaches keep praising the kids throughout.
Motivation tools: Lumi stickers, keychains, small rewards, medals, and mini trophies.
Ages 9–12 · Learning through play and European football culture
An intensive blend of football skills, basic tactics, discipline, communication, and general education. We use the "learning through play" method. Coaches get teaching tools: photos of famous players, official flags of European countries, mini trophies and medals for the winners of knowledge-and-movement challenges.
| Topic area | Coach's question on the pitch |
|---|---|
| Spotting world stars | "Who can name this player in the picture? Who knows where Cristiano Ronaldo is from?" |
| European geography | "Who can sprint to the ball first and recognise the flag of Germany?" |
| Capitals and clubs | "Who knows the capital of Spain and which big clubs play there?" |
| Football history | "Who can tell me what the UEFA Champions League is and how many times Real Madrid or Barcelona have won it?" |
A correct answer or visible effort gets immediate praise and a chance to earn a reward from the training box.
Ages 13–16 · Future A-Team
The shop window of our academy. We require firm discipline, a professional and responsible attitude, mutual respect, a strong team mentality, and proud representation of the brand. The vision: systematic preparation for top international European tournaments and building a strong, respected modern European academy.
10
Training environment, back to nature
Natural grass pitches are the academy's absolute priority for healthy physical development, clean technique, and proper movement patterns. In the tropical climate of Bangkok, where there are no winter months or frozen pitches, we strictly avoid artificial surfaces.
Joint protection
Artificial turf is a hard surface with little ability to absorb impact. Repeated shocks damage developing joints, knees, and growth plates.
Extreme heat build-up
In Bangkok's climate, artificial turf absorbs sunlight aggressively. Surface temperatures spike, raising the risk of dehydration, blisters, and heatstroke.
Natural movement mechanics
Real grass lets boots grip and rotate correctly. Synthetic surfaces lock the foot in place and dramatically increase the risk of knee and ankle sprains.
Real ball physics
Natural pitches give authentic ball roll and bounce. Kids must constantly adjust touch and spatial awareness, both key for tactical intelligence.
11
Duties, punctuality, preparation
Every coach receives a full professional kit from the academy that must be on hand at every session: a professional first-aid kit, a water box, organisational equipment, training aids, medals, mini trophies, educational materials, and the Lumi Czech Football Academy banner.
Punctuality standard
When a session is scheduled, the coach must arrive at least 45 minutes before kickoff. That time is for preparing the pitch, setting up equipment, hanging the Lumi banner, and getting the session organised properly.
Hydration: The coach must bring fresh water for the kids to every session. Coaches are encouraged to occasionally bring small healthy treats, refreshing drinks, or little rewards. The coach must represent the academy at all times, both in clothing and behaviour.
12
Content, marketing & social media
Our official club content creator will attend sessions regularly. Her role is to interact naturally with the kids, support a positive atmosphere, capture authentic content for social media, and show the public the real, joyful identity of the academy. All coaches work with her in a professional, natural, and friendly way.
13
Internal communication (LINE)
For maximum organisational clarity, all coaches are required to be part of the official Lumi Czech Football Academy LINE group. That's where all the organising, training scheduling, info sharing, and coordination happens. The academy owner attends sessions in person from time to time, but coaches are given full trust, freedom, and responsibility to lead their teams.
14
Inspiration for coaches
A clear source of inspiration for our modern approach to youth coaching and working with kids' attention is Joshua Paul (Fit4Football). His style, high energy, simple explanations of game principles, positive motivation through emotion and stories, and building player confidence, is a great reference for our team.
The goal isn't to blindly copy individuals, but to follow modern international trends and bring them carefully into our own environment.
15
Coach profile, languages, inclusion
When building the coaching team we place no weight on nationality or country of origin. It is entirely irrelevant whether a coach is from Europe, Africa, or anywhere else in the world. The key criterion is that they fully understand our philosophy and can put it into practice every day with enthusiasm.
- Languages: Excellent English; Thai is a plus.
- Qualifications: A valid coaching license or demonstrable experience with youth coaching.
- Right mindset: Inner discipline, an open mind, and a willingness to learn our internal methods.
16
Personal brand vs. academy identity
We're building a strong social brand and we want the whole academy to grow as one, and for every coach inside it to grow as an individual too. We don't want to limit anyone in building their own name, quite the opposite. Every coach has our full support to develop their personal brand, create content creatively, and build a following on social media.
At the same time, personal activities must be kept strictly separate from the club's intellectual property. The name "Lumi Czech Football Academy", the lemur character Lumi, and all related visual, graphic, brand, and marketing assets belong exclusively to our project. This official brand remains unified, indivisible, and fully owned by the academy.
17
A closing message from the leadership
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, to all our coaches for the trust, energy, and willingness to help build this bold vision every day. We're looking forward to a long road together, building a modern, respected European academy that brings kids pure joy from football and helps them grow not just as athletes, but above all as good people in real life.
We bring together uncompromising professionalism, the individual growth of every coach, and the unshakable strength of our shared brand.

06
Social media and life balance
We understand that today's kids grow up in a digital era surrounded by TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and other platforms. Our approach is never to criticise or shame kids for using modern technology. Instead of bans, we help them find and understand a healthy balance.
Coaches explain naturally that social media can be great fun and a source of inspiration, but real life, movement, real friendships, and sport matter just as much. Football on the pitch creates real, unfiltered emotions and tangible human relationships.
